Read how Samurai Names protects your privacy: the samurai name generator runs in your browser, we collect no personal data and use no tracking cookies.
Your privacy matters to us, and the simplest way to protect it is to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what happens to information when you use samurainames.com (the "Site").
Information We Do Not Collect
The samurai name generator runs entirely in your web browser. When you type your name, choose a style or generate names, that information is processed on your own device. It is never uploaded, logged or stored on our servers. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses, payment details or location data through the tool.
Favorites and Preferences
If you save favorite names, the generator stores them, together with your last used settings, in your browser's local storage under the keys sn_favs and sn_prefs. The dedicated generators, such as the clan, ronin and sword name generators, store their own favorites and settings the same way, under keys beginning with sn_tool_. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can remove your favorites at any time with the Clear All button, and remove all stored data, including settings, by clearing site data for samurainames.com in your browser settings.
Information You Choose to Send Us
If you email us, or use the contact form (which opens your own email app), we receive the information you include, such as your name, email address and message. We use it only to reply and to improve the Site. We do not sell, rent or share it with third parties, and we delete correspondence we no longer need.
Cookies and Analytics
The Site does not set advertising or tracking cookies and does not include third party analytics scripts. Fonts and images are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not send your data to font or image providers. If we ever add privacy friendly analytics or advertising, we will update this policy before doing so.
Hosting and Server Logs
Like any website, our hosting provider may automatically record technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the Site securely and prevent abuse. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify individual visitors.
Third Party Links
Share buttons and some links lead to other websites, such as social networks. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. Share buttons are plain links: nothing is loaded from those networks until you click.
Children's Privacy
The Site is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, including under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and to ask us to delete it. Because we collect so little, most requests are simple. Email us and we will respond promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the Site changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
